Our Registered Dietitian

Alaina Ward, MS, RDN, CSP, CLT, LDN

I am a Master's level licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition.  I am also a Certified LEAP Therapist specializing in food sensitivities.  As the owner of Nutrition Therapy of Memphis, I am committed to nutritional needs of the men, women, and children I serve.

I discovered my gift and passion for pediatric nutrition and gained my extensive and varied experience during my tenure at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.  My focus at Le Bonheur was with the Pediatric Surgery and GI Team.  I was instrumental in the start up and played an integral role as the dietitian of the highly successful G-tube outpatient clinic.  After becoming a mother myself, I began consulting for area OB-GYN clinics, which further honed my knowledge, expertise, and passion in prenatal nutrition care, lactation, and women’s health.  As a mother, I understand first hand the struggles and pressures that moms share in providing the very best start to our babies during that first critical year, whether you are breastfeeding or bottle feeding.  Understanding the symbiotic relationship of a healthy mother to a thriving child is key to my ability to provide families with practical, evidenced based recommendations to address the sometimes stressful and confusing challenges that come with nurturing a child.

My clients can trust and rely upon my extensive knowledge, varied experience, common sense, and real world best practices that are all in accordance with and endorsed by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG).  Please contact Nutrition Therapy of Memphis to schedule your appointment.  I look forward to sharing my expertise and clinical experiences to help you and your family thrive.
